Mary Adams’ book, The Party Dress is filled with techniques and inspiration for creating a unique and glamorous dress. The book is filled with wonderfully detailed photos of her work and the dresses are as striking as they are wearable. At Nancy’s, we were so inspired by her book that we all made party dresses of our own! The harvest has arrived! Stop by the store to see our ‘locally grown’ (or locally sewn) heirloom tomato pincushions. They’re filled with walnut shells and wool batting to keep your needles sharp. Many of us woke up early on Friday to watch the royal wedding, and to catch a glimpse of the dress that has been a topic of debate for months. It was Sarah Burton, successor to the late Alexander McQueen, who won the honor of designing the storied gown. And it truly was a dress from a fairytale! The Carrickmacross lace was hand-stitched at the Royal School of Needlework. You can create your own fairytale moment with lace from Nancy’s! We make an effort to carry a variety of exquisite pieces from here and abroad.
